Do you think these artickles is worth spending time on?
Yes (0)

No (1)

Maybe (0)

I do not know (0)

Actually I am stumped - do not know what to make of all this  BUT TO WONDER WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT.

FreeTheWebSA on Facebook mentioned report of ITC.

My Questions is:
  • Who is behind FreeTheWebSA?
  • What is behind all this action to their campaign?
  • If any how does or could this influence our work or business at GoNetReaqdy?
  • Is this worth to key into and try and take advantage of or do we just play the "attraction marketing game" on this platform to pick up some prospects?
I ask these questions, because when I understand what is really going on, then I could be more effective in my strategy if this "field is worh the play".

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

"Over the last 10 years, the digital divide has been shrinking in terms of numbers of fixed phone lines, mobile subscribers, and Internet users.

Nonetheless, there remains a crucial gap. ITU estimates that some 800’000 villages – representing around one billion people worldwide – still lack connection to any kind of information and communication technology. . . . . . . "

If I am honest, and it no way effects what I do in the UK, if all they can muster is a Facebook page then can they taken seriously?

SA seems to be going the way of the UK a few years back where bandwidth cost money and now its almost unlimited this and unlimited that and it pars with the mobile market so as deals on mobiles and communications in general gets better, so does broadband.

Communication companies are monsters and what individuals do means nothing, its getting politicians involved with clout that make a difference, which is unfortunate since most have zips on their mouths.

Some years ago, I came up with a concept, that I am sure other have. Fuel prices escalated here in the UK and still continue to rise to this day. If everyone boycotted 1 of these petroleum companies like BP then they would cry foul and between them and the Government, prices I'm sure would drop.

The only issue is, individuals are scared and follow crowds and thats why Governments hurt the individual but bow down the Billion Dollar businesses.

Facebook is a monster business now, but the users are just the individuals, except for a few, remove the screen from in front of them and they go back to being quiet and a no threat to any large business.

Dont forget, youve got involved in GNR to join the GoldRush of now so please think about this: As an individual, you got to work, pay taxes, pay bills and whatever is left is your. As a business, you work, spend, pay bills then pay taxes on whats left. Just think about that concept! I am in the middle of putting some information together that explains this in more detail.

Hi Mark. I think I and a few others was not meant to see their test add (http://www.facebook.com/FreeTheWebSA).
It seems that this Facebook page is a clever list building campaign by MWeb.
The FB add I saw briefly offers uncapped ADSL for R249/m
Should be awesome for them and us if they can service the growing list.
They promise to make all public tomorrow at 09h00.
Should be interesting or a prank that will top anything "Whackhead Simpson" has ever done :-))
